Today was a really nice day. I got a little overtired from being out in the sun but it will be okay. I am looking forward to sleep.

I slept alright last night. Remembering to turn the fan on and having that white nosie helps a lot. I woke up a little after 9 and as I was making the bed James came in and told me I looked really powerful standing on the bed which made me laugh.

We had a chill morning. I got dressed and felt alright. For sure needed to wash my hair. But putting it in a clip was fine for now. We would have to get Sweetp to the vet at 1230. And would want to get him ready around 1145 so we could be calm. So we got the carrier out early and just pretended it was no big thing.

Then while we were eating our little breakfasts James put catnip in the carrier and slowly got Sweetp comfortable. But by 1150 he was only putting his front paws in there. So I picked him up and put him in butt first.

He cried the entire time. I felt so bad. James felt so bad. But he kept crying!!

Once we got to the car he seemed a little calmer. James buckled him in and we headed to the vet.

We had not been to this one before but I low key loved it. Firstly it was like a blast from the past inside. Wood paneled walls and plastic chairs like a stadium. And the staff was super nice. There was an old guy taking his dog home who was full of jokes that had everyone smiling and in a good mood.

Me and James got in a bit of a tiff in the car when they told me they never got the pet insurance redone. And I thought we had not taken Sweetp to the vet until they did that but they didn't and I was like. Pissed pissed. When we got to the vet I found the insurance they accept and got James to buy it right then. I was much more calm after that. But man was I angry for a bit there.

The tech we had first was great. She was very sweet. Apparently sweetp's vet records labeled him as a dog which we all thought was very funny. And she said he isn't fat!! Just large!! The vet would confirm that when he came in. They were super complimentary actually once I told them my concerns. They were like. You could brush him more but he's beautiful and so sweet.

Sweetp was being really good though. He weights almost 17lbs. They did an ear temperature because he gets so upset with the butt one. They were super kind to make him comfortable.

The vet was a really neat guy. He has done animal handling for movies. And their clinic helps with gorillas in Africa. Which is amazing but he told us that the other vet there just died from west Nile virus he got in Africa 2 weeks ago. Wild. Heartbreaking. I'm really sorry for their loss.

He gave me a lesson plan they had written because I told him we do nature programs at camp. I thought that was super sweet of him. And it is clearly a labor of love and seems super cool. I will pass it on tomorrow.

The vet also asked if we had done sweetp's DNA before. He thinks he might have maine coon in his lineage because he's so friendly and big and how he plays. He also thinks I should get camp to do his DNA and use it for a lesson which I don't think they would go for but is a fun idea!

Sweetp got his shots. And he only bit the tech a little and she wasn't mad at him. Sweetp was being a super good little boy just sitting on the table though which was clearly making him uncomfy but he was being so good. We would get him back in his carrier and paid st the front. And then we headed home.

I was honestly really hungry but I was more focused on getting Sweetp home and comfy. We got him inside and he basically exploded out of the carrier and ran away. I got him to come back to give him a couple treats. Told him he's such a good boy. And then me and James headed back out.

We went to Chipotle for a late lunch. And it was really good. I got a salad and James got tacos. I saved half of mine for lunch tomorrow. Then James said we could get donuts for the road.

We went next door and I saw they had the spider donut keychain I had seen on Instagram. I was like. I need that. I love it. James said yes and I was bouncing a little cause I was excited. I got my two donuts and my keychain and James got a coffee and two donuts and soon enough we were on the road.

I named my spider donut Spooder. I love him very much. Good hand feel.

And it was a nice drive. A little long. A little bright. But a nice ride. We were going to a sunflower farm! We would stop at a royal farms to use their bathroom. This was a good move. The farm was just a field.

We arrived at the farm at 3. We paid our $10. And it was so worth it. It was beautiful. I also learned a lot about sunflowers. They are actually 2000 smaller flowers making up each sunflower? They are great at absorbing nuclear fallout?? They are super attractive to bees?? Incredible.

We took pictures and looked around. Walked on paths. The sun was just a little to hot on our backs but I only cares a little it was so beautiful and lovely. There were only a few other people and it just felt so special. Sunflowers are what James gave me when they proposed. We had them at our engagement party and our wedding. I love sunflowers. I love James.

We would struggle to take pictures because the sunflowers are not strong enough to balance my phone on. I was able to use a carabiner and hook it on the stem without damaging it but it wasn't ideal. Eventually we found a traffic cone and was able to take much better pictures. The sun was to bright though and I was struggling to see and not making pained faces without my sunglasses but I still think we look cute and happy. Because we were!!

We would decide it was time to go when we were a little to hot. The nice ladies at the front took our picture in a silly face in a hole sign. And then it was time to go home.

I was super glad I insisted on refilling my water cup at chipotle before we left. It was the best thing to cook is down. The AC helped. I was exhausted from the sun and just wanted to go home.

It wasn't a bad ride but I was fading a bit. When we got back here James carried my market box inside to be refreshed. I got some new stickers in the mail today. And I went to get changed.

I washed my face and would lay down. I had to answer some emails and stuff but I mostly just really really needed to sleep.

James would go for a bike ride. And I would sleep the evening away.

When I woke up at 7 I was really woozy. James kept asking me if I wanted anything but I didn't and I was so tired still and dehydrated and was like. Please stop. But they were just trying to help.

Eventually I would had a pbandj and take a bath and wadhed my hair. It helped but I am still really tired. And dehydrated.

I am going to go brush my teeth and drink some water and hopefully fall asleep easy.

I head to camp tomorrow. Looking forward to s nice day. I hope you all have a good night and a fun day tomorrow. Sleep well and be safe.

UPDATE 2

I weigh myself on Wednesday mornings when I first wake up and yesterday i was hoping to be into the 70s but it said 180 which is fine whatever i guess next week will be 70s week. The week was going SUPER well and I was feeling soooo motivated until Tuesday night, one of the kittens were fostering was acting funny and I have felt sick to my stomach ever since. We took him to 2 vets and he stayed over at a research pet hospital last night where we got an update that he’s doing better but idk what even happened to him he’s the sweetest, cutest lil bean and i just want him to be happy and healthy so any thoughts/prayers for his delicate lil self is much appreciated :(

Yesterday I missed for the first time a workout day since starting my chloe ting 4 week shred and i feel legit gross about it especially bc yesterday being so stressed i had a frozen burrito and a set of brown cinnamon sugar poptarts and i feel beyond gross w myself. Everything was going well, why does life have to get in the way all the time?

It’s whatever I’m not going to let it stop me bc i’m legit already 8lbs down this year (legit only since April!) and 17lbs!!!!!! down overall from my highest and bitch thats an ACCOMPLISHMENT. Hoping and praying this week goes better and that 2020 starts to ease up a bit bc idk how much more tumultuous ass shit i can take.

P.S. This is off topic but im hoping and praying they find Naya Rivera safe, healthy, alive and ok. i never watched glee mostly bc i ~despise~ lea michelle but i’ve always really like Naya (especially when she was w Big Sean) i’ve always looked up to her and admired her beauty and strength. i really really hope shes ok

He’s grown a lot since I left, both a combination of a teenage growth spurt and my mom over feeding him. I sometimes wish he was 9 lbs, your cat sounds very sweet!

Nuggets Journey

Today’s blog is about Nuggets! We know him to be about 14-15 years old. He was originally from Modesto (according to his chip) but was found by my hubby in Turlock wandering around on the streets. My mother in law took care of him for almost 10 years when she couldn't anymore and gave him to my hubby and I on Christmas Eve 2019. On Christmas Day we took him to the vet since he was very sick and he was diagnosed with diabetes. In addition to diabetes, he has chronic kidney disease, arthritis, and some constipation. He recently a few months ago suffered from pancreatitis. He is an older, senior cat with issues but it doesn't make him less loving! 

He really is a good cat. He loves his long cat naps. He loves to EAT! That is his favorite hobby and he eats everything! He is not a picky cat at all. He loves to spend time with his humans when he is awake usually snuggling with us on the couch. He can't jump anymore but he can climb stairs still. During the past year, we nursed him back to health. He is on insulin and medication for nerve pain/arthritis and constipation as well but he is doing very very well! Bright eye, good energy and overall a sassy cat! 

I would say it’s not easy to take care of a senior cat. You definitely need to provide the care and time for medications and doctor appts. You need to be accommodating to the senior cats wants and needs. Whether it’s changing the water a few times a day (he makes a mess with his dirty paws sometimes), giving him extra hydration with water pouches/stews. Whether it’s carrying him to certain spots that he can’t reach. Nuggets is a big boy too (17lbs) so getting him an extra large litter box is needed. Most stores do not sell extra large litter boxes so I did a make shift box from a plastic storage box and cutting an extra large hole so he can crawl in and do his business. It’s all about being accommodating and making sure he has what he needs for disease and pain management and ease of lifestyle.

Boogie’s Weight Loss

Boogie is well known for being obese, with his original fame coming from his ‘fat guy falls in pool’ video. A constant struggle in his life has been his desire to lose weight. Despite this, many have noticed that Boogie has failed to lose weight.

Originally starting at around 600lbs at his heaviest, Boogie was able to lose around 75lbs before 2012, in which he appeared on the British television show  SuperSize VS SuperSkinny. After this showing, he stalled at this weight until 2017 and began to become desperate. He began to consider bariatric surgery, which he underwent against the advice of his doctors.

Misconceptions about Weight Loss: Despite being obese, Boogie has a startling misconception about weight loss, which he perpetuates though clear fallacies. In a 2016 long post, Boogie claimed that he only lost 1lb a week on a 1200 calorie per day diet. This would seem to be breaking the laws of physics, though Boogie claimed his doctors disagreed. In a later Tumblr post, he would claim that at a 2000 calorie diet he had also failed to lose weight.

Gastric Bypass: By far the biggest actual loss was surgical intervention. Boogie was able to lose around 150lbs in the per-surgery loss stage and immediately following it. He had big plans for healthy eating, including not eating fried food and continuing to a target weight of 250lbs.

Contradictions about Healthy Eating: Since his surgery, Boogie has stressed that his stomach is small.

Boogie committed to doing 30 days of healthy eating, but was seen 2 weeks later eating greasy food at a restaurant and eating donuts. Boogie would claim this was him ‘taking a day off from healthy eating’, showing a concerning lack of interest in his diet, as well as a poor example for his impressionable fans. In a stream, Boogie reacted with anger, claiming that there was no healthy food at the event, however critics easily found videos disproving this. Boogie would continue to be passive aggressive about this in the future.

When filming collaborative videos, Boogie has often claimed that he will eat healthily, but other perspectives show this to be a lie.

General Weight Loss Contradictions:

Boogie has often misconstrued his weight loss, either trying to cover up his weight loss stall or out of a concerning delusion that being 350lbs is healthy. In early 2019, Boogie claimed he had lost 17lbs in 5 months, however his Twitter showed a contradiction as he was the exact same weight 5 months prior. Boogie claimed in late 2018 that he no longer took up two seats on the bus, but photo evidence showed this to be false.

Boogie claimed he could walk between 3 and 4 miles a day, but later said he struggled to walk more than 2 miles on the treadmill. In his treadmill Tiktok, he is clearly struggling to walk on the treadmill and suggested COVID19 made him give up, in spite of stating that he was exercising consistently during quarantine. Despite all these struggles, Boogie claimed that he broke quarantine to run a marathon in mid 2020, an extremely unlikely feat for a man of his size and low mobility.

On the Killstream Podcast, Boogie claimed that he was 355lbs and holding for a year and a half. However, upon getting on the scale, it was revealed he was 364lbs, showing a lack of tracking weight.

Hypocrisy: Since losing weight, Boogie has seen fit to insult and criticize other obese people. When at a restaurant, Boogie harassed a girl for eating pizza, comparing it to his chicken shawarma. He sarcastically said “I made the right choice. Enjoy your greasy, greasy pizza”. In 2018, Boogie used a larger friend as a prop to create a fake before/after image, mocking the slightly more obese friend. Although showing awareness that his friend was bothered by this, he said “I won’t do this often”.

Giving up: In 2019, at around 350lbs, Boogie was streaming on Twitch and answered questions as to why his well publicized weight loss had stalled for 2 years. Initially reacting in anger at the question, Boogie said his main focus was now his mental health rather than his weight. He said that he he was very healthy due to his exercise, and that he no longer cared about cutting back on unhealthy food, claiming that this was part of his self-care. He said that his body was fully healed and now he wanted to focus on his mental health, despite the fact that unhealthy food is linked to mental health issues. He added that he felt losing weight was now unnecessary despite having a BMI of 40+.

EveryDamnDayFitness: Many of Boogie’s fans reacted to this with incredible concern, including fellow YouTuber EveryDamnDayFitness, who made a video pleading with Boogie’s friends and family to address his poor health, out of genuine concern for his life. EDDF said that Boogie’s surgery was just a band-aid for his food addiction, and if this went unaddressed, he would not solve his issues.

As is usual with his critics, Boogie reacted with extreme anger. He commented on Reddit about EDDF’s video, saying a public response was incredibly harmful. He also raised the point that he was aware he would die in the next 10 years, and planned to spend that time eating whatever he wanted. In a response video, EDDF made the point that Boogie was open to public criticism due to being a public figure, and that Boogie was giving irresponsible messages to his fans. EDDF also proved that Boogie lied about the claim that EDDF had never privately messaged him. He also reiterated the health risks of being 350lbs.

Boogie continued to vent his frustration at EDDF’s criticism, claiming that EDDF’s fans were harassing him. Later, he would go onto the H3H3 podcast and misrepresent the comments he made in the initial video. EDDF demonstrated how Boogie was lying about these points, and continuing to slander EDDF. EDDF also showed how Boogie had tried to get his fans to harass EDDF.

A year later, Boogie would agree to an interview with EDDF.

Delusions: Since his gastric bypass, Boogie has displayed a seeming delusion that he is now at a healthy weight (365lbs).

He has suggested that he is the same weight as Frank Hassle.

So I guess that was good. Matt’s a big dorky stupid giraffe of a guy someone needs to keep him on a tighter leash at conventions. Karen was so tired I was kind of afraid she was gonna faint on one of us at the framing booth. Jess was great because she remembered me from last year and gave me a hug I have been blessed. Barry just made fun of us for selling picture frames for like $20. What a d i c k I’m sorry I didn’t set the price of these frames but you were in some funny movies so like good for you I guess. Brad! And Eliza just kinda like walked past us, and then she was talking to me and I made an awwwwful joke about us running out of frames and us needing to “have Faith” and I swear to god I saw the lights go out behind her eyes and it looks like she was about to seriously beat my ass before she groaned and gave me a tongue-lashing about how awful that was. To wit, I apologised profusely for not thinking before opening my idiot mouth.Yayyyy.

I was supposed to be James Marsters’ handler all weekend, but then he canceled at like the last minute and then I was just bounding all over the place for a while so I don’t reeeeally know what I was doing for real all weekend, but HEY I had a decent time and I made a buncha money for doing something I’d honestly have paid to do in the past. So that’s been the highlight of the weekend, I guess.

Like I said before I am SERIOUSLY having to put up a lot of energy to prevent myself from spending something like $200 on removing all my hair from the neck down because nothing is fucking setting me off more right now than my body hair. Like, that and the feeling like crap and tremors are what’re making me feel the worst right now.

T r e m o r s no not like that god-awful movie series, I’m just having tremors right now and I think it’s from lack of sleep or food and I can’t tell which. It’s probably food? Because the last few nights I’ve actually been sleeping through the night, when I get to sleep, but I’ve just been not eating again, which is further making me think that I need to be seeing a shrink and get some actual help for having a serious eating disorder. Like, I just can’t get myself to eat these days jesus christ. FUCK. I don’t know what’s wrong with me, it’s not a body image issue or some shit, because if I do eat, I gain not a fuckin’ pound. But when I don’t eat like now, I drop between 6-17lbs in a matter of weeks, or 2 months or so. Why can’t I get myself to eat?! I fucking hate this. Not to mention the amount of shit my mom and Ori give me when they find out I haven’t eaten all day, like, Ori just complains at me, and my mom gets angry, full on angry that I haven’t eaten. And I hate making Ori upset, and I really fucking hate having to deal with my mom going “Just Eat! Right Now!” and screaming at me because wow that’ll sure stimulate my appetite I always get super hungry when people yell at me angrily (actually no that’s a total lie you know what makes me the MOST hungry is just sitting in my bed at like 11:30 and realising I need to like RIGHT NOW eat an entire box of Goldfish crackers)

Absolutely get nail clippers for pets, not people ones.

Meet Smudge. He's very cute, very lovey, but he's also ~16-17lb (he keeps stealing the other cat's food, the bastard) and is a strong kitteh.

He's also a big anxious dumbass, so sometimes he'll flip if you try to trim his nails.

We found that bribery helps immensely (we started with one small treat per nail clipped, now we're down to one treat per paw usually) and that he's much more malleable if you get him in a cuddly/sleepy mood.

Sometimes though, he just isn't having it. Instead of trying to wrestle with him (which freaks him out even more, which might make him bite), we just let him go and try again later. Clipping the tips of a housecat's nails won't hurt them and is just like clipping your own nails, just be patient.

Hello! I had a question about cat care- I've already sworn to NEVER declaw a cat in my lifetime, and I know the damage declawing causes. However, I still wonder: is it okay to clip the tips of your cats claws, or is that also a big no-no??? I care for my babies IMMENSELY and I want to give them the best treatment I possibly can.

Awesome! Declawing is known to cause problems in cats, I’m glad to hear that you’re not going down that route!

Trimming the ends of cats claws is perfectly okay, and doesn’t cause any harm to the cat! as long as they are still able to use their claws for things such as climbing, stretching, playing, scratching itches, etc, then trimming the ends should be okay.

On all cats claws’ they have the nail part (just like our nails), and a fleshy part, called the “quick”. Trimming the white/grey/translucent part is perfectly harmless, just like trimming a human nail. You’ll want to avoid the quick when trimming their nails, as that has blood vessels and other important things. Here’s a handy picture I found on google!

If your cat doesn’t like their paws being touched, you’ll either have to train it to tolerate you trimming its claws, or you’ll have to take it to a vet or groomer to have its claws trimmed.
